Title: Poor OCR Recognition

Problem:

OCR performance is extremely poor.

Cause:

Scanning resolution is set too high.

Solution:

  1. Scan the image using a resolution setting of 300 dpi when the intentions are to perform OCR on a document.
  2. Perform OCR on the scanned image.
  3. If OCR performs poorly on existing images, open the image and click on 'Image' in the menu bar and select 'Image Size'. Change the X and Y resolution to 300 pixels/inch.
  4. Click on OK to save the new settings and perform OCR on this image.
